Nostalgia Tour: Iron & Wine, The Creek Drank the Cradle

Iron & Wine’s 2002 release The Creek Drank the Cradle is a damn pretty record.  It really crystallizes the whole “back-porch” quietness of most of Sam Beam’s recordings, and the melodies and songwriting are pretty much spot-on.  Tracks you can’t miss: “Lion’s Mane,” “Bird Stealing Bread,” honestly they’re all good.
